Next steps on Palestine

On 21 June 2024, the date when the summer solstice and the full moon coincided,

I opened, at last, this my beloved website

1. The first text you will find in this tab on “Palestine” is a “Brief Chronology of the History of Palestine and Israel“.On 28 May 2024 I finished writing this “Brief Chronology” in Spanish-Castilian. I think it is the first document I have to upload, because “nothing is understandable without its history”.

From that date until June 21st (and against the clock… especially because of my slow pace due to my precarious health) I translated this text into my other ten languages. The first draft of all the translations was done using the translation software available on the web, and then I polished it manually. Following almost entirely the order in which I learned those languages: first I translated it into English, then into French, then into Arabic, then into Russian, then into German, then into Catalan, then into Italian, then into Portuguese, then into Bulgarian, and finally into Basque. And that is the order of translation that I will follow for all the texts I upload to this website.

Unfortunately, the format I used in this “Brief Chronology” was not optimal, because although I did not include in the webtext all the footnotes and hyperlinks of the original text, I did include about forty, and that, multiplied by eleven, has taken me a lot of time and effort, because I always looked to see if the information was available in that language and, if it was not and was one of the co-official languages of Spain and was in Castilian (what they call Spanish abroad), then I put it in Castilian; and if it was not in Spanish-Castilian either, I put it in English. For the rest of the languages, the hyperlinks that I couldn’t find in that language, I put them all directly in English. And the hyperlinks to UN resolutions I have tried to make them go to the official version, which offers on the same screen access to the six versions in the six official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Spanish-Castilian, Chinese, French, English and Russian).

The texts I will upload from now on will not have any footnotes or hyperlinks and anyone interested in the sources can look for the information in the original document in Spanish-Castilian (castellano), which will be inserted as a pdf. In the future, that pdf will have the same format as the document on the website (which I did not do for the first document… and I am learning from my mistakes). With this strategy I hope to gain time and go a little faster.

2. “Palestine, especially Gaza, from October 2023”: in this text I detail the genocide in Gaza and the measures taken by the international community which, unfortunately, the United States (US) has managed to distort as a consequence of its veto right in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), a right that is very, very detrimental to the peaceful international order. My initial goal was to upload it before 20 July… and I did it! I finished it on 4 July and finished uploading it in all eleven languages on 9 July. I then updated this next steps entry.

The other texts that I will upload to the “Palestine” tab of this website are already written in Spanish-Castilian, but I will not upload them until I have them in all eleven languages. The order in which I will be translating and uploading them is as follows:

3. I start with the translations of: “Proposed Solution to the Conflict among Israel and Palestine”: in which I do a broad introduction containing six sub-sections:

  • Brief notions of International Law
  • Historical-legal foundations of the dispute
  • Main UN resolutions
  • The Israeli-Palestinian treaty framework
  • Israel’s violation of the Palestinian people’s human rights
  • The EU and the Israeli-Palestinian Question

Followed by a proposal for a solution to the conflict.

4. “Manifesto against Genocide in Gaza and for a Free and Sovereign Palestinian State”: this is a summary of the three preceding documents on two sheets of paper on both sides.

5. “Decalogue for a Free and Peaceful Palestine”: this is a summary of the preceding Manifesto on one sheet of paper on both sides, and is ideal for reading at protest demonstrations against the ongoing genocide.

6. Micro-story: Israel and Palestine or the spoiled child

7. Poem: Long Live Free Palestine In Peace!

First, I will do the seven written texts on Palestine (the first three will be long, between 20 and 25 pages each and the last four short ones). I hope to finish this part around September. I will then start producing videos and audio podcasts of all these texts.

If you want to be alerted when I upload new documents, in your language or in all languages, check the corresponding boxes in the “Contact” tab.

And if you like the texts or have corrections to make or comments to send me, I’d love to hear from you. You have a form in that same “Contact” tab…

And once I have uploaded the seven texts, all the videos and all the audios on Palestine, all of them in the eleven languages…

  • We will advance in the development of an interactive map that will go in “Connecting” and, within this, in “Pacifism” and that will be called PPP (Paz Por Palestina, Peace For Palestine).
  • I will take up the “Moncreativity” part. I have a lot written, especially in Spanish-Castilian, but translating it will take me some time…
  • I will expand the “Mon” section with much more information about my personal and professional career. I already have it written in Spanish, but… it needs to be translated and uploaded…

It only remains for me to hope that the writings contained in this website

bring you something positive…

I assure you that I have put in them my best know-how!

Thank you very much for your visit!
