The poemary “Moon in Love” is only available in Castilian. Of its 76 poems I have translated into English the one on page 17, “A better world”.
A BETTER WORLD
There is a lot of hatred in this world,
there are wars between nations,
there is mistreatment towards defenseless beings,
there are fights between close people,
there is a lot of evil floating in the environment
and it will not be the charity of a few
that will manage to triumph over this evil.
Only a universal awareness
that we have to change,
all human beings
in the depths of our thinking,
feeling and acting,
only a deep desire
to expel from our being
that hatred, that anger and that disdain,
only that firm and personal decision
can lead us to
put individually
our grain of sand
to a great work,
the great collective work which has to be
working together
shoulder to shoulder
in order to build a better world,
a world without hatred or anger
in which we are able
to make peace spring,
let it spring from the bottom of our souls
to end up joining up
with those powerful jets of peace
of other hearts
and together,
all humankind,
form an immense sea of
feelings of love
that flood the planet
and bring forgiveness.
